Efficient Purification-Air Compressor Filter Element

The air compressor filter is an important component in the air compressor system. It is mainly used to filter impurities, oil, moisture and other particulate matter in the air to ensure that the air entering the compressor is clean, while protecting subsequent equipment (such as pneumatic tools, pipelines, etc.) from contamination.

Types:

1. Intake filter (air filter)

Function: Filter dust and particulate matter in the inhaled air to prevent it from entering the compressor and causing wear.

Material: Usually made of fiber, paper or multi-layer composite materials, it can filter particles of 110 microns.

Location: Installed at the front end of the air compressor inlet.

2. Oil filter (oil-gas separator)

Function: Separate the lubricating oil (oil mist) in the compressed air to ensure that the oil content of the exhaust gas meets the standard (usually ≤3ppm).

Material: Glass fiber or special synthetic material with high separation efficiency.

Location: Installed in the compressor oil-gas separation tank.

3. Oil filter element (lubricating oil filter)

Function: Filter metal debris, carbon deposits and other impurities in the lubricating oil to protect the bearings and rotors.

Material: Metal mesh or high-precision filter paper, the filtration accuracy is usually 1025 microns.

Replacement and maintenance of filter element:

1. Replacement cycle

Intake filter element: Replace every 2000 hours or according to the environmental dust conditions (if the environment is harsh, the cycle needs to be shortened).

Oil filter element: Replace every 3000-4000 hours, or when the pressure difference exceeds 0.81bar.

Oil filter element: Replace synchronously with lubricating oil, usually every 2000-4000 hours.

2. Replacement steps

Stop and release the pressure to ensure that the system is pressure-free.

Remove the old filter element, clean the filter element seat and sealing surface.

When installing the new filter element, pay attention to the direction of the sealing ring to avoid air leakage/oil leakage.

Check the pressure difference and operating status after starting the machine.

3. Maintenance Tips

Check the filter element pressure differential gauge regularly. If the pressure differential increases abnormally, handle it in time.

Avoid using compressed air to blow the filter element in reverse (may damage the filter layer).

Store spare filter elements in a moisture-proof and dust-proof manner.

Common Problems and Solutions:

1. Filter element blockage

Phenomenon: compressor exhaust volume decreases and energy consumption increases.

Handling: Replace the filter element and check whether the environmental dust exceeds the standard.

2. Filter element oil leakage/air leakage

Cause: aging of the sealing ring, improper installation or damage to the filter element.

Handling: Replace the sealing ring or filter element, reinstall and test the sealing.

3. Excessive oil content

Possible reasons: failure of the oil filter element, excessive lubricating oil or abnormal system pressure.

Handling: Replace the oil filter element and adjust the oil level and operating parameters.

Purchase suggestions:

1. Matching model: Choose a filter element that is consistent with the original specifications (size, thread interface, filtration accuracy).

2. Quality first: Poor quality filter elements may cause equipment wear or gas pollution. It is recommended to choose brand products.

3. Environmental adaptation: Moisture-proof and anti-static enhanced filter elements can be selected for high humidity or dusty environments.

Precautions:

It is forbidden to reuse disposable filter elements (such as oil filter elements).

Filter element cleaning is limited to temporary emergency (such as gently sweeping the surface dust with a soft brush), and cannot be replaced.

The filter element needs to be pre-lubricated before installation (the oil filter needs to be filled with lubricating oil).

By regularly maintaining and replacing the filter element, the life of the air compressor can be significantly extended, energy consumption can be reduced, and the purity of the compressed air can be ensured. If you still have questions, you can contact us at any time.
